eBay has made marketing very convenient especially to those people who don't have the time to go to the store and buy the things that they need. Collectors are very fond of this website because here you can find almost all the hard to find products and even unusual ones. It surely did change people lives.
Now eBay have almost 20,000 employees and they get their salaries through a number of fees charged to the users of this website and here are some of them.
Subscription fee
A person cannot sell or buy anything with ebay without registering or subscribing to the site. A fee of less than $16 valid for a month is available. This is the lowest subscription fee that anyone can acquire. There are two other amount of subscription fees as you upgrade your ebay usage. The next level is less than $50 and the last is less than $300. These are all valid for a month.
Insertion fee
Any product that is posted in the site has a corresponding insertion fee depending on its price tag. If the bidding starts at less than a dollar, then ten cents will be added to the next bidders bid and if another bid is higher the insertion fee is again added to that bid and so on and so fort. An additional twenty-five cents is added if the bidding price starts at a dollar to less than ten. Half a dollar will be charge if the price is from ten dollars to less than twenty five. The higher the amount goes up and so does the insertion fee.
Final Value Fee
When the bidding is closed, the final value fee comes in. If the final price is $50 and below, they get 8.75% out of it, again as the price tag goes up and so does their percentage or commissions.
